Auditions & Eligibility |
Eligible participants must adhere to the age range specified for each show. High school graduates are not eligible to participate. Eligible participants must be concurrently enrolled in a recognized extra-curricular performing arts training program (acting, voice, dance, musical theatre) or must be enrolled at a recognized performing arts school. Participants who do not meet this criterion will be required to enroll in RYC's 8-week "Intro to Triple Threat" class, running concurrently during the rehearsal period. TO AUDITION, YOU MUST PREPARE: A musical theatre song (16 bars, with sheet music, accompanist provided) A memorized monologue, story, or poem - 2 minutes maximum Also, all candidates are required to participate in a Group Movement audition (come dressed to move!) New this year: register for RYC's AUDITION PREPARATION WORKSHOP to make sure you stand out from the crowd! HOW TO AUDITION: To book an audition, please email rycauditions@randolphacademy.com Or call 416-924-2243 x400 with the following information: NAME, AGE, GENDER, PARENT'S NAME, EVENING TIME PHONE NUMBER, EMAIL ADDRESS, PREFERRED AUDITION DATE. You will be contacted approximately 4 weeks prior to auditions to book a specific date and time. There is no fee to audition for RYC (fees only apply if accepted into the company) and we strive to make our auditions fun and stress-free! RYC practices non-traditional, gender-blind casting: Kids of all backgrounds and nationalities are encouraged to audition! Audition appointments are limited at the discretion of RYC. 35-40 kids will be cast in each production. Kids may audition for multiple RYC shows, but are required to audition separately for each.
