Auditions reflect the Triple Threat nature of the program. Prospective students attending group auditions must present the following:
Acting– Prepare one memorized one-minute, age- and gender-appropriate monologue from a published contemporary play (1960-present). Please read the complete play; the audition panel will ask you questions about it.
Vocal–Prepare one memorized song, up-tempo or ballad, from Musical Theatre/Broadway repertoire (age- and gender-appropriate), maximum 2 minutes in length. Please bring sheet music in the key in which you will be singing. Music must be copied double-sided in a 3-ring binder that is 1'' thick. An accompanist will be provided.
Dance– Wear proper attire for jazz dance. A dance assessment will be conducted at beginner level. If accepted, further assessment will be conducted to determine dance class placement (pre-beginner, beginner, elementary, intermediate, or advanced).
All applicants will be interviewed by the Artistic Director and/or President of Randolph Academy. In addition, all applicants will be required to write a 200 word personal statement during the audition.
